Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodrguez, released a joint statement on social media on Monday announcing the death of their baby boy.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away,” Ronaldo and Rodríguez wrote on Twitter on Monday. “It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.”

Cristiano Ronaldo, moreover expressed that only the birth of the child’s twin sister gives him and his partner Georgina Rodrguez the ability “to survive this moment.”
Cristiano Ronaldo added, “We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo and Rodrguez revealed their pregnancy on social media in October, with the Portuguese already having four children, two of whom are twins.
“We are delighted to announce we are expecting twins,” the couple announced in a statement at the time.
“Our hearts are full of love – we can’t wait to meet you.” Rodriguez has already highlighted how devoted Ronaldo is to his children.
“Every day is pleasant and special by your side,” she further wrote on Instagram. “We will always love you.” Thank you so much to the greatest father in the world.”
United travel to Anfield on Tuesday to play Liverpool in the Premier League. It’s unknown whether or not the forward will feel ready to participate in the game.
United responded to Ronaldo’s news with a message on Twitter. It read: “Your pain is our pain, @Cristiano Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time.”
