With people in remote areas of the state continued to flout Covid protocols, Assam government has planned to use drones to monitor on such violators. The idea to use drones was decided during the recent review meeting.
The decision came at a time when the state was been planning to begin its ‘unlock’ phase in majority of the districts in the state.
An official source said that chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asked district authorities and the police to conduct drones surveillance to identify places where people are coming out in large numbers, violating Covid restrictions. The CM has also asked the district authorities of at least nine districts to keep an extra check on those who were violating inter-district transport restrictions.
