The Government of Mizoram, as per the recommendations of the State Level Expert Team on COVID-19 Management, has revised the SOP for entry point screening yesterday, on January 5. According to the SOP, the current SOP will immediately supersede the previous SOP that was issued on 14.10.2021.
Screening at Entry Points and Quarantine
The SOP asserted that all individuals entering Mizoram will be required to fulfil the formalities prescribed by the Home Department, Government of Mizoram. Further, one has to go through the mandatory testing for COVID-19 at the entry screening points with RAgT for COVID-19 unless he/she has a negative COVID test report from within the last 72 hours.
All individuals who test positive will be required to be isolated/ treated as per the existing COVID-19 management protocol while asymptomatic persons tested negative with RAgT may not be quarantined, but shall follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB).

Symptomatic individuals need to quarantine
Individuals who are symptomatic but have tested COVID negative will have to be tested with RT-PCR/ TrueNat and need to be quarantined for 5 days even if he/she tests negative. They will have to be tested again with RT-PCR/TrueNat after the said 5 (five) days of quarantine.
The SOP further instructs individuals regarding self-monitoring. Persons are to monitor themselves strictly following COVID Appropriate Behaviour viz. social distancing, proper wearing of face mask covering mouth and nose, and hand hygiene; and watch out for any of the COVID-19 symptoms as indicated below, and shall seek advice from the CMO/ MO concerned or the Helpline at telephone Nos. 102/ 0389 2323336/ 0389 2322336/ 0389 2318336.-
i. Fever.
ii. Cough.
iii. Loss of taste/ smell.
iv. Sore throat/ throat irritation.
v. Malaise/ Weakness.
vi. Body ache /Headache.
vii. Gastro-intestinal upset.
viii. Diarrhoea.
ix. Dizziness.
x. Anorexia/Nausea/Vomiting.
