The Chief Electoral Officer of Assam has ordered for the registration of all unrecognized political parties in the state. This new directive has been put in place to submit the financial reports of the unrecognised political parties by 24th of June 2022.
Chief Electoral Officer issues new directive
According to the orders issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, all the unrecognized political parties are to submit the financial reports, audited reports and accounts from the year 2017 to 2020. The reports must be in place within 30 days.
In addition, the commission has also ordered the RUPP’s to submit the report mentioning the expenditure statements from the 2019 to 2021.
Nitin Khade who is the Chief Electoral Officier of Assam said that in Assam out of 23 unrecognised political parties only 3 of them submitted the annual audited account since 2019.
