The state BJP is eagerly waiting for the national leadership since they want to withdraw support from NPP in Meghalaya. As per the statements of M Chuba Ao, BJP National President and State Incharge for Meghalaya, the party members have already decided,however, the decision has to be taken at the national level.
BJP Wants To Withdraw Support From NPP
M Chuba Ao further added,”We will talk with JP Nadda, after that we will finalise it. Our two MLAs in the alliance are ready to withdraw support. We will contest independently in the upcoming Assembly elections. We have some conditions. After the election, we will think about postponing the alliance.”
It may be noted that in 2018, the NPP formed the government in Meghalaya. It is being told that in the 2023 Legislative elections, the party is going to spend a huge amounts of money.
A national level leader of TMC stated in the regard of possibilities of alliance between NPP and TMC, ”It can not be commented right now, but anything is possible in politics.” Meanwhile, there are possiblities of clash for chief ministerial candidacy between both, TMC and NPP.
