Assam Direct Recruitment Exam

Speaking to the media after a cabinet meeting held on April 29, Jayanta Malla Baruah said, “We are heading forward to fulfil the poll promise of providing one lakh jobs to the youth of the state. On May 3, results of the third-grade posts will be declared on May 3, while results of fourth-grade posts will be announced on May 4. The results will be available on the official SEBA website. We are planning to distribute appointment letters to 50,000 candidates to commemorate the second term in office of Himanta Biswa Sarma-led alliance government on May 11.”

Chief Minister’s assurance to return examination fees

Candidates who could not qualify for the exam are waiting for their examination fees to be returned back by the government. The government of Assam had earlier promised to return the examination fees of candidates who do not qualify for the Direct Recruitment Exam for Grade III and IV. The state Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, had assured that the fees of only those candidates who pass the exam would be kept, while the fees of those who do not qualify would be returned to their bank accounts after the results are declared.

The SLRC had conducted the Grade III, Grade IV and Driver written exam from August 2022 to September 2022 for 25792 Grade 3 and Grade 4 Posts. After a long wait of 7 months, the Assam SLRC has finally published the Grade III result for 11,510 Vacancies on 03.05.2023.

Candidates who are eligible for the refund can expect the fees to be credited back to their bank accounts within a reasonable time frame. It is important for candidates to keep their bank account details updated and keep a track of the refund process.

The Assam government’s decision to refund the examination fees of non-qualifying candidates is a welcome move, as it shows the government’s commitment to ensuring that candidates are not financially burdened by the recruitment process. This move will go a long way in encouraging more candidates to apply for government jobs and take exams without the fear of financial loss in case of failure.

The results of the fourth-grade posts are scheduled to be declared on May 4, 2023. Aspirants are advised to follow the website for the latest updates and information relevant to government job aspirants in the state of Assam.

The Grade-III written examination results were released by the SLRC on November 6 and after that a skill test was conducted in December. The skill test follows the exception of applicants for Stenographer and Driver positions.
