In a shocking incident that took place in Lakhimpur district, a student allegedly died of suicide after the examinations were called cancelled. Family members and neighbors have accused the education department of Assam who recently announced the cancellation of high school exams.
This is one of the most shocking incident which happened in the district. The family members said that the students were anxious to appear for the examination in the hope of getting better results. As per the family, the student was forced to choose the path of suicide out of frustration following the decision of cancelation of exams were out in view of the current Covid-19 situation.
Police arrived at the scene and conducted the preliminary investigation. The body has been sent to North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination in the presence of the magistrate.
