In the recent budget session as declared by the Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, students of classes 9 and 10 will be provided mobile phones which will help them in their online studies.

However, in the decision made there is a certain condition, that the mobiles phones have to be returned once the students have cleared the exams.
Proposed budget by finance minister of Assam for school students
In the 800 crore budget proposed by the finance minister, Ajanta Neog the distribution of mobile phones to school students of class 9 and 10 who belonged to underprivileged families was a big step that will help the students to study and attend their online sessions.
It was also decided that internet connection will be given free of cost as well which will be of great help to the students.
This scheme is said to benefit 8 lakh students of the state and check dropouts of students in the state.
