Relatives of the Majuli Ferry accident gets appointment letters from the CM of Assam as promised.
Assam CM Dr. Himnata Biswa Sarma on 8 January handed over the appointment letters.
The letters were given to Madhumita Das, sister of deceased Parinita Das and Ruprekha Bora Senapati, wife of deceased Indreswar Bora who lost their lives in the Majuli ferry accident.

Reportedly, Parimita Das’s sister Madumita Das has been appointed as the Lecturer at State Council of Educational Research and Training.
And Ruprekha Senapoti Borah has been appointed as a Grade IV employee in the office of Lakhimpur District Primary Education Officer.
On Sept 8 Assam witnessed the Ferry Accident
On 8 September a ferry named Ma Kamala overturned in which Parismita Das, lndreswar Borah and his wife were passengers of this single-engine ferry.
The ferry overturned after it collided with another double engine ferry named SB Tikirai.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, wrote on Twitter, “Though loss of human lives can’t be compensated, we’re trying to help next of kin of those who died at Nimatighat ferry incident. Gave away appointment letters to Smt Madhumita Das, sister of deceased Parinita Das, & Smt Ruprekha Bora Senapati, wife of deceased Indreswar Bora.”
Further, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the salary will also be provided to the family of Dr Bikramjit Baruah, who too lost his life. His family will get full salary till his retirement.
Also, whenever required financial help will be given to families of all the deceased.
As per instructions the Education Department to get along with the Finance Department to ensure that appointees get their first salary in time.
