On Monday, the Assam government filed a preliminary notification for the tenth addition to Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve, with the goal of improving protection and conservation.
Authority expressed gratitude
In a Facebook post, the Kaziranga National Park authority expressed gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, state forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya, MLA Ranjit Dutta, and MLA Promod Borthakur for their interest in consolidating the Kaziranga area for forest and wildlife conservation.
9th addition to Kaziranga National Park
The state government had previously proclaimed its desire to establish the Biswanath Wildlife Division and Tezpur sub-division as a national park in the name of the 9th addition to Kaziranga National Park on June 30, 2021.
In a proclamation, it was hereby informed to the public that claims of any right of any person in or over the land comprised within the limit of the 9th addition to Kaziranga National Park must be submitted in the prescribed Pro-forma to the Divisional Forest Officer, Biswanath wildlife division, Biswanath Chariali, within two months of the date of the proclamation, i.e. August 31, 2021.
