The Assam government with immediate effect, had shifted administrative control of the Directorate of Bodo Medium from Elementary Education Department to Secondary Education Department.
Also, along with the Directorate of Bodo Medium, Other Tribal languages have also been shifted to the Secondary Education Department.
Assam governor transferred the administrative control
As per an official notification issued, said that in the interest of public service, the Governor of Assam is pleased to transfer the administrative control of the Directorate of Bodo Medium and Other Tribal Languages, Assam from Elementary Education Department to Secondary Education Department.
Pramod Boro, chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region further, thanked the state government for the initiative.
In 2020, a long pending demand of the Bodo people was fulfilled with the opening of a separate directorate for Bodo language.
