Eligibility Criteria for DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment
Age Limit: A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years as on 1st January 2021.
Age Relaxation: The Category-wise age relaxation for different categories are as mentioned below:
Ex-Servicemen: 42 years
OBC/ MOBC: 43 years
SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 45 years
Persons with Disability (PwD): 50 years
Small Family Norms: According to the government’s policy on Small Family Norms, no person with more than two living children from a single or multiple partners on or after January 1, 2021 would be eligible for appointment.
TET Certificate: Candidates who have passed the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) conducted by the Assam Elementary Education Department will be eligible to apply, as will candidates who will appear and pass the Assam TET to be held in the month of October 2021 (Advertisement No. SSA/Esstt/TET/Misc/508/201 1/PV7589 dated 14/09/2021) after the results are announced.
Medium of Instruction: The candidate’s Language-I score on the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) must match the school’s language of instruction. For example, if a candidate wants to work in an Assamese Medium School, he or she must have Assamese as Language-I on the Assam TET.
Similarly, candidates applying to Bodo/Garo/Bengali/Manipuri/Hindi/Hmar etc. language schools, the candidate must have Bodo/Garo/Bengali/Manipuri/Hindi/Hmar etc. as Language-I in their Assam TET conducted by Elementary Education Department, Assam.
# The criterion of medium of instruction applies solely to the positions of Assistant Teacher in LP School and Assistant Teacher, Science Teacher in UP School.
Educational Qualifications: The educational requirements for each post are shown below
Assistant Teacher (LP)
(a) Senior Secondary School diploma (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Elementary Education diploma (by whatever name known).
OR a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) and a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45 percent marks in line with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations 2002.
OR a Senior Secondary (or comparable) diploma with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed.) OR a Senior Secondary (or equivalent) diploma with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
AND
(b) Passed the Assam TET for LPS, administered by the Assam Elementary Education Department.
Assistant Teacher (UP)
Graduate from a UGC-accredited university with a 2-year diploma in elementary education or a B. Ed. or a D. Ed. (Special Education) or a B. Ed. (Special Education) and a pass in the Assam TET for UPS administered by the Assam Elementary Education Department.
Science Teacher (UP)
B. Sc. from a UGC-accredited university and a 2-year diploma in elementary education or B. Ed. or D. Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education) and a pass in the Assam TET for UPS (Science and Mathematics) administered by the Assam Elementary Education Department.
Assamese Language Teacher
Graduate from a UGC-accredited university with Assamese as one of the courses and a 2-year diploma in elementary education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education) and a passing score in the Assam TET for UPS conducted by the Assam Elementary Education Department.
Manipuri Language Teacher
Graduate from a UGC-accredited university with Manipuri as one of the subjects and a two-year diploma in elementary education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education) and a pass in the Assam TET for UPS conducted by the Assam Elementary Education Department.
For the purposes of this recruitment process, candidates who have completed the 18-month D. El. Ed. course framing the NIOS (ODL) will be treated on an equal footing with those who have completed the 2-year course.
Pay:
Assistant Teacher (LP): Pay Band – 2 (PB-2) @ Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 60,500/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019”
Assistant Teacher (UP): Pay Band – 2 (PB-2) @ Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 60,500/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019”.
