Assam: On October 7, Dr.Himanta Biswa Sharma attended a presentation by PKH Singh on the proposed Brahmaputra tunnel.
A total of ₹6550 Crore of funds has been proposed by the state government. The tunnel will connect Jamugurihat (North) and Silghat ( South). The tunnel has the capability to convert the whole transportation system.

Similar tunnel construction acknowledged by CM
On a similar note the Indian Army has also planned a tunnel just like the Atal Tunnel under the Brahmaputra river for unhindered motion of its vehicles, acknowledged by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
