Assam Cabinet took key decisions on August 11 to appoint 8855 youth in different technical posts that included doctors, paramedics, nurses in the Health Department.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted a cabinet meeting in Guwahati on August 11. Significant decisions were taken in the meeting by officials in numerous sectors of the state.
While talking to the press, Minister Keshab Mahanta said:
“Arms battalion personnel in the state police force from the rank of sub-inspector to constable will be granted a month-long compulsory leave every year for visiting their homes to be with their families. That personnel staying with their families in quarters will be given 10 days leave every year.”

Health Minister Keshab Mahanta
The Cabinet made its decision to appoint 8855 youth in different technical posts, namely nurses, doctors, and paramedics in the Health Department of the State. The process will be starting from September 2021.
It will begin from September 2021, says the minister.
Ajanta Neog, Finance Minister
The Assam cabinet approved 52,500 posts in the Health Department. Education and Home Affairs will be taken into consideration following the last two meetings by the cabinet, says the Finance Minister, Ajanta Neog.
As per the sources, out of 52,500 posts, 22,000 belong to the home department, and the remaining 8000 posts are for the state’s health department. The process will start in September.
The Assam cabinet under the chairmanship of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma decided to increase the dearness allowance and dearness relief of govt employees and pensioners by 11% from the current rate to bring it to 28% from 17%.
From July 1, both pensioners and State government employees will be benefited from this enhanced DA and DR.
The government of Assam also regularized the absence for leave of government employees, which includes both state and central employees who have been stuck outside Assam during the pandemic before March 20, 2020.
Public Relations minister Pijush Hazarika
50 youth from each constituency will be benefited from driving training by the Transport and Skill Development Department.
Besides giving a Driving License, the government will also provide subsidies of up to Rs. 1 lakh to enable them to buy commercial passenger vehicles. According to sources, the total number of youths that will be trained is 6600.
Enrolled as a sub-tribe in ST, the Assam cabinet also decided to request the Central Government to replace the word Lalung with Tiwa.
Other details
Moreover, the TET qualification certificate will have a lifetime validity instead of 7 years, but the retirement age will be relevant.
If an employee is unable to provide a NOC certificate, his or her salary will be deducted.
Employees are asked to provide NOC certificates by paying the electricity bill until July 2021.
