Assam: On Wednesday, Nagaon police arrested three juveniles and one adult in connection with the horrific murder of a 7-year-old minor child in Kaliabor.
Horrifying incident in Assam
The minor girl was allegedly beaten to death by three youths inside a bathroom at a stone quarry after she refused to watch pornographic videos with them, according to police reports.
During the preliminary inquiry, it was discovered that the accused, ages 8 to 11, are porn addicts capable of plotting and carrying out a heinous crime.
According to sources, the three youngsters live near the victim girl’s home and have been watching pornographic videos on their phones for quite some time.
Meanwhile, despite being aware of the occurrence, a parent of one of the minors has been arrested by the police for refusing to cooperate with them.
“Unfortunate murder of a 6-year-old girl at Missa, Kaliabor solved within 24 hours. 3 juveniles, 1 adult arrested,” Nagaon police tweeted from their official handle on Wednesday evening.
“Accused aged between 8 and 11 are porn addicts capable of conspiracy and gruesome execution of a dastardly crime. Seems it’s time for introspection and social intervention,” it added.
Launch of an operation to arrest the culprits
The officer in charge of the Kaliabor police station, Assam, Rajib Baruah, and his team launched this operation under the direction of Nagaon Superintendent of Police, Anand Mishra, and detained three juveniles and one adult in connection with the murder case.
“It is a very unfortunate incident. Two of the accused are 11 years old and one 8 year old. The juveniles used to watch pornography on mobile of the adult who is the father of one of the three. We have seized the phone which was full of pornographic clips,” Nagaon superintendent of police Anand Mishra told reporters.
SP Nagaon, Assam Anand Mishra also expressed his sorrow over the terrible occurrence on his official Twitter handle, saying, “Family/Social intervention & institutional guidance to the kids could have saved these 4 young lives. 1 Lost Life, 3 Lost for Life. It can happen with any one of us or anyone around us. If our upcoming generations fail on socio-moral standards, Responsibility lies greatly upon us!”
