On July 18, an incident was reported from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), where four teachers allegedly tried to kill the principal of the school on the premises. A video of the incident also went viral on various social media platforms.
The four accused teachers are identified as Kaluram Meena, Madanlal Gupta, Navneet Kumar, and Manavendra Goswami. Darrang Police arrested all four accused within 24 hours.
Darrang SP Sushanta Biswa Sarma said, “According to the FIR, we have arrested four teachers and started interrogating them. A section of teachers assaulted the principal of JNV P. Rajesh after they tied him with a rope in a tree”.
Moreover, P. Rajesh, the principal, was honoured with the National Award for the Best Teacher by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) for the year 2012.
