The Arunachal Pradesh authorities have constituted a committee to perform and recognize studies on the contribution of folks who fought towards the British because the authorities decided to pop out with a document on freedom fighters to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the State’s subsequent year, stated by an official right here on Friday.
The five-member panel, headed with the aid of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, will acquire genuine documents, files and journals and go to locations of historical interest for their research studies, he added.
CM Pema Khandu informed the Assembly
Chief Minister Pema Khandu had acknowledged the Assembly that the State will organise diverse activities throughout the State from January 20 next year, including that the celebrations will remain for a month. The CM mentioned on the floors of the House that the action has been undertaken to recognize the contributions of the unsung heroes of the liberty struggle.
“The committee will submit a list of freedom fighters after their research works. A document will be compiled,” stated the official.
The panel meeting was held on September 9
The first meeting of the panel was held on Thursday i.e on September 9 at the office of the Deputy Chief Minister.
”The people from our State and the entire North East region sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle. Unfortunately, their contributions were not recognised till date and their stories of valour are not known to the outside world,” said Mein while addressing the meeting.
During the meeting, a selection is taken to shape a sub-committee to perform the studies works withinside the fields.
