Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research & Analysis of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong and Arunachal Pradesh government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The deal made on Friday was to foster mutual agreement between the Centre and the Finance Planning and Investment department of the Arunachal Government.
Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, was present during the MoU signing ceremony while, Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Naresh Kumar and Dr. DP Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong, represented the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and IIM Shillong respectively.
Informing about the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Pema Khandu in a tweet on Friday said the MoU was signed with the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research & Analysis at IIM Shillong.

@IIMShillong – For capacity building of State Government Officers – To set up a satellite center of IIM Shillong in Arunachal Pradesh,” the chief minister tweeted.
The Chief Minister was optimistic that the collaboration would pave the way for creating a rich human resource that will augment the state’s development.

What is it about?
IIM Shillong will assist the Government of Arunachal Pradesh in developing policies and a roadmap for business development in Handloom, Horticulture, Tourism, Logistics, and BPO sectors.
IIM Shillong will facilitate the state government in implementing some of its flagship projects by providing critical managerial interventions. It is also agreed that IIM Shillong will organize managerial capacity-building programs for the newly recruited officers of Arunachal Pradesh.
Future Prospects
Khandu also hinted at having a similar collaboration with Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) Mussoorie, which will be the first of its kind for any state in the country.
He invited the IIM Shillong team to visit Arunachal Pradesh in August to explore and research potential areas for policy intervention.
