On Wednesday, an Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) temporary employee was electrocuted while working on a transformer repair in the Geleki area of Kaziranga.

What happened?
According to sources, the deceased, Pranabjyoti Baruah, had been working for the APDCL in the Geleki area as a temporary employee for the past four years.
In the late evening hours, during a power outage in the Geleki Chariali area, Baruah was working on bridging the transformer when the accident occurred.

The APDCL, on the other hand, claims that victim Baruah collapsed because he failed to notify the control room while working on a transformer at Geleki Chariali.
Meanwhile, residents blamed the power department for the employee’s death.
