According to Dr Mukul Sangma, the leader of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Mamata Banerjee’s visit to Meghalaya may be postponed.
“At this time, it is uncertain whether the AITC chairperson will visit the state or whether her programme will be postponed,” Mukul said on Sunday, adding that the party will make the final decision on whether to go forward with the event or postpone it due to the festivities.
“There has been some request coming in from our colleagues,” he said, “bearing in mind how busy the general calendar of the leaders and grassroots workers is projected to be during this month with too many engagements and other church programmes.”
