We all have fetishes and owning luxury cars is one of them. And when we talk about luxury cars, Mercedes is one of the first Luxury vehicles companies that comes to mind. Everyone knows about Mercedes, and for the ones who don’t, Mercedes-Benz, commonly referred to as Mercedes, is a German automotive brand headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. Luxury and commercial vehicles are produced by Mercedes Benz.
Now, the Mercedes logo- the three-pointed Star stands out whenever we talk about luxury cars. However, let’s take a deeper dive and find out what’s behind the logo and how it came about to be a synonym to comfort and luxury.
The First Logo
Paul and Adolf Daimler, the sons of Daimler , were the primary ones to think up the first Mercedes-Benz logo design. The first iteration of the Mercedes-Benz logo was a gold star and was inspired by a logo their father used to include on their family postcards.
How it evolved?
The Mercedes-Benz brand expanded in all these years and so did the logo. As time has gone by, the Mercedes-Benz logo evolved into a white star in the middle of a thick circular border with detail around the edges.
Today, the iconic logo is perceived as a silver circle with a Three-Pointed Star in the center and can be displayed as either a stamp embedded in the grille or as an ornament in the hood of the vehicle.
Meaning of the Logo
The first Mercedes logo was depicted as a stylized image of the steering wheel, although it had been in use long before the company started manufacturing cars. The logo tried to thoroughly represent the toughness and prevalence of Daimler engines on every surface possible.
