On June 2, a lone terrorist barged into Kulgam’s Elaqaie Dihati Bank and murdered Vijay Kumar, a Rajasthan-based bank manager. The shooting was caught on camera by a security camera.

Kumar, a resident of Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh, was shot on June 2, just after arriving in Kulgam, Kashmir. On CCTV, a terrorist was seen entering the bank and firing at him.
The killing drew concern since it was the latest in a series of targeted homicides in the Valley.
The targeted attacks on migrant workers and local minorities started last year.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir is also witnessing protests by Kashmiri Pandits demanding that they be relocated to safer areas.
Since Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, was shot dead inside the magistrate’s office in Budgam last month, members of the community have been protesting.
Approximately 4,000 Kashmir Pandits who were employed in the Valley as part of the Prime Minister’s rehabilitation programme have threatened to leave because they no longer feel safe.
