Two policemen were killed after terrorists opened fire at a police team in Kashmir’s Bandipora district today.
According to reports, the incident took place in Bandipora’s Gulshan Chowk this evening in Kashmir. Security forces have surrounded the area and launched a search operation for the attackers.
What happened?
According to the police, the two policemen, Constables Mohd Sultan and Fayaz Ahmad were critically injured and were shifted to a hospital where the doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The police in a tweet said, “Terrorists fired upon a police party at Gulshan Chowk area of Bandipora. In this terror incident, 02 police personnel namely SgCT Mohd Sultan and Ct Fayaz Ahmad got injured and attained martyrdom. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow.”

Last month, the Bandipora district of Kashmir suffered another attack on security personnel at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Bandipora’s Sumbal. No damage however was caused as the grenade missed its intended target, CRPF personnel told news agency PTI. The district earlier in October also witnessed a grenade attack that led to six civilians, including a woman, being injured.
