Ukraine woman flees war torn region

Even in tough times, Anna and Anubhav Bhasin managed to fight against all odds. Anna was from Kyiv, which is the Capital of Ukraine. It is also the same region that has been the most hit places during the war. As she recalls, she was eagerly waiting for all the flights to fly her back to India.

Anna met Anubhav who is a Delhi based lawyer in the early years of 2020. It was the same year that has seen a global pandemic at the modern age of 21st century. Throughout their love life, they both faced and crossed many hurdles together including the Pandemic and the War.

As per the reports of media sources, Bhasin said ” We have known eachother for about two and a half years. We met each other while travelling. The first time we actually got to know each other properly was just before the first lockdown in 2020.”

During that time, Anna was juggling work hours. She was a working professional at an IT Company and also a makeup artist. According to her she was unable to move out of the country as many flights were cancelled due to the lockdown.

As a result, Anna extended her stay in India, and stayed with Bhasin until she could fly back. Even after she got back to Ukraine, the love between them didnt fade away. As one says, distance helps you to grow. It is actually true in their scenerio.

After the second phase of lockdown was over, they met again. This time in Dubai. She flew back to India with him. Before going back to ukraine, she met his parents and decided to get married.

Things were on a good note until the war broke out. According to the recent post, Bhasin said “Anna woke up to the sounds of bombs on the morning of 24th February.”

For the initial 3 to 4 days she moved in and around the bombing shelters but gradually she decided to move to Poland. She literally packed only her essentials and hurried to get out of her country, the country that she has lived in for her entire life. Anna was in a very devastated phase. She had to walk miles to reach the Polish border.

Bhasin had tears while narrating the ordeal. He said, ” After entering Slovakia, She took a bus and reached Poland. I had some friends there who helped her and provided her accommodation.”

Moving out of Ukraine was definitely very tough for her, but she did it out of fear and out of missing out her partner who was in another country. She rushed to the Indian Embassy to get her Visa. Once she landed Anubhav couldn’t stop but proposing her at the airport.

As of now, Anna Horodetska stays in New Delhi and they are all set to get married soon.

Impact of the Ukraine – Russia war

Similar to Anna, many people including young students from India were stranded in a war torn region of Ukraine. Out of these, a few has also lost their lives in a foreign land. The impact of this war is certainly not just limited to the people who are directly affected by the war but also to those living outside the region. Having experience such an event is traumatic, stressful and out of bounds especially in the 21st century.

This on going war on Ukraine by Russia has led to large scale damage to life, property and to a peace loving country.
