Recently, Time Out magazine released the list of the top 10 best cities in the world, where the list shows 37 cities, and San Francisco, Amsterdam, and Manchester are at the top of the list.

The new poll by international culture and entertainment magazine Time Out answers the question. However, to find out the best cities in the world, 27,000 city-dwellers are questioned for the outlet, from Melbourne to Madrid, Chicago to Copenhagen and Tel Aviv to Tokyo. 

The poll recognises all the tremendous things these places have accomplished over the past 18 months during the COVID-19 crisis. 

They were rated based on the green space, and sustainability.community projects, However, the ranking was not solely based on the food and culture. 

Why did these cities make it to the top?

It is assumed that the cities are not only thinking about the present but also the future. Cities are in fact trying to make life better for the present as well as for the next generation.

However, the main reasons for why these cities made it to the top, consists of its weather, that allows for outdoor dining year round, progressive politics, hundreds of parklets, etc.

According to Time Out, San Francisco in the US has been ranked 1st among the best cities in the world. Yet, one might have seen this city in films, or have maybe even visited it. 

As per the recent outlet, what makes the city click is the point that among other things, it has had a “one of the strictest Covid responses in the US”. 

When things looked extremely difficult in the country, there was a certain “community spirit” observed in the city, where businesses tried creative things to stay afloat. Also, there was something called the ‘SF New Deal’, which assured restaurant workers that they got to work, making meals for those in need. Neighbours even came up to take care of each other.

The list comprises 37 cities from around the world, while the top 10 are:

1. San Francisco, California, US

2. Amsterdam, Netherlands

3. Manchester, UK

4. Copenhagen, Denmark

5. New York, US

6. Montreal, Canada

7. Prague, Czech Republic

8. Tel Aviv, Israel

9. Porto, Portugal

10. Tokyo, Japan
