In 1936, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. Later, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in 1944.
The year 1964 was a significant landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Qualification & Eligibility Criteria:
The candidates who acquires a full-time Master’s Degree in Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Social Work (MA/Msc) from a UGC recognized University must have worked with issues of violence against women in the capacity of a counselor/trainer/content developer can apply for the post.
3 years of work experience of direct interventions in the above-mentioned fields required.
The Candidate is required to speak English and Hindi and at least one regional Indian language fluently.
Possess excellent academic and research writing skills in English are referred.
The Candidate must be skilled in training counselors or other helping professionals and willing to work in flexible hours.
It must be noted that candidates not having an academic background in Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Social Work need not apply.
