After rushing into a Texas elementary school on Tuesday, 24th May, a teen gunman slaughtered at least 19 children and two teachers, the latest in a series of gun-related mass killings in the United States and the country’s bloodiest school shooting in almost a decade.

Authorities say the carnage began when the 18-year-old suspect, Salvador Ramos, shot his own grandmother, who fortunately survived.
He drove away from the scene and crashed near the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, about 80 miles (130 kilometers) west of San Antonio. There, he went on a deadly rampage that ended when he was shot and killed by police.
