15-year-old girl, Tanishka Sujit to appear for BA final exams meets PM Modi; aims to become Chief Justice of India

15-year-old Tanishka Sujit from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is set to appear for the final year exams of Bachelor of Arts (BA), aiming to pursue law and become the Chief Justice of India (CJI). Tanishka had earlier passed the Class 12 exams at the age of 13, after clearing Class 10 with first division. The young girl’s dream of studying law in the US and becoming the CJI was encouraged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi when she met him during the Combined Commanders’ Conference in Bhopal.

During her meeting with the Prime Minister, Tanishka shared her dream of studying law in the US and becoming the CJI. The PM, in turn, advised her to visit the Supreme Court and watch the arguments of lawyers as it would motivate her to achieve her goal. Tanishka was quoted saying, “Meeting the Prime Minister was a dream come true for me.”

Tanishka was given admission to BA (Psychology) first year at the age of 13 after she excelled in the entrance test of Devi Ahilya University. The Head of the Department of Social Science Studies at the university, Rekha Acharya, said that they treated her as a special case and got her enrolled as a student officially.

Family tragedy of Taniksha

In 2020, Tanishka lost her father and grandfather to COVID-19. Despite the tragedy, she continued to excel in academics, and her mother, Anubha, fought the grief for the sake of her daughter’s future. She was quoted by sources as saying, “After losing both family members, I was left clueless. After two-three months, I felt that I should take care of my daughter’s studies for the sake of her future and have to fight for this.”

Upcoming exams

Tanishka Sujit will appear for her BA final year exams from April 19 to 28, reported PTI. If she passes, Tanishka will become the youngest graduate. Her ultimate goal of becoming the CJI would require further studies and a successful career in the field of law.
