Swansong is an Assamese short film that bagged recognition and a global platform.
Insight to Swansong:
The story of ‘Swansong’ revolves around two brothers and a drastic change of their relationship over time. The younger brother named Bedanta returns home after receiving the news that their mother passed away. After returning he came to know that his brother didn’t perform any rituals for their departed mother and this in turn changed the relationship between them that went from good to worse.
The story has been written by Nibir Akash Baruah and the Cinematography has been done by Mrinmoy Saikia. Mukunda Madhab Bora is the Assistant Director whereas Lakhinandan Boruah is the associate Director. The sound designer of the film is Jyoti Chetia and Nibir Akash Baruah is the Director. The screenplay has been done by Nibir and Kishore Bharadwaj Baruah.
The movie was selected for the Abbey Film Festival which is an event where content creators around the world get a platform to showcase their best project. Besides, Sessions by Lift-Off Global Network, Falcon International festival, Rameshwaram International Film Festival are some of the other platforms where the movie bagged to perform. Moreover, the movie stood to be a semifinalist in the International Moving Film Festival.
‘Swansong’ was also honoured in the Madras Independent film festival.
