A shocking video from Meghalaya‘s village has come to light on the internet recently. In the video, a youth who has been accused of theft was being beaten inhumanely by a group of angry mobs.

The alleged theft
In the video, a man is seen beating up the youth with a wooden object. According to the Northeast Now, the youth allegedly tried to steal a stereo system from a car that was parked near the District Transport Office (DTO) in Nongstoin.
Once caught, he was mercilessly thrashed by a group of locals at Nongstoin in Meghalaya’s West Khasi Hills district. The video has gone viral on the internet ever since.
Criminal case against those involved
According to the Meghalaya Police Officials, a case has been registered against the mob at the Nongstoin Police Station. “The act of taking the law into their own hands by the public has led to a criminal case being registered against those individuals involved in wrongfully confining and assaulting the accused person under Nongstoin PS,” AIGP G K Iangrai said in a statement on Sunday.
