Shillong: DC issues new guidelines; Wine shops to operate 6 days in week

Shillong: Citing the fast rising covid cases in the country the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, Isawanda Laloo on January 10 issued restrictions to be followed by citizens in the district.

About the order in Shillong:

According to the newly issued restrictions, all IMFL ‘OFF’ retail shops must be open for 6 (six) days weekly from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM i.e. Monday to Saturday. All HDL licensees shall operate from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and from Monday to Saturday weekly and all IMFL ‘ON’ retail shops shall operate from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM daily.

At the same time all bonded warehouses operate from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM from Monday to Saturday weekly. Besides, all canteens and outstills operate from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM from Monday to Saturday weekly. 

First case of Omicron:

The first Omicron case in the northeast was detected when a 48-year-old man from Manipur’s Imphal West district, who had returned from Tanzania recently, tested positive for the new variant of Covid-19.
