A severe heatwave is predicted to lash on the Capital today on 14th May 2022. Many parts of the capital felt the scorching heat of the sun on Friday with temperatures crossing 46 degree celsius.
Heatwave in Delhi
As per reports from Safdarjung which is Delhi’s base weather station recorded 42.5 degrees Celsius on Friday and Najafgarh recorded 46.1 degrees Celsius.
Many areas of Delhi including – Jafarpur Kalan, Mungeshpur, Pitampura recorded 45.6, 45.4 and 44.7 degree celsius.
According to the weather report published by IMD, the capital will be experiencing strong heat waves for the next consecutive days.
IMD has also issued an Orange alert that signals a severe heatwave condition in the state with temperatures soaring up to 45 to 47 degrees Celsius.
According to RK Jenamani, “the temperature on Friday was almost similar to Thursday. However, Najafgarh crossed the 46-degree mark. According to the forecast, Saturday is expected to record the highest maximum temperature compared to Friday and Sunday. From Monday, Delhi will witness cloudy skies and thunder which will bring down the maximum temperature to 41-42 degrees Celsius.
