Under the influence of a Western Disturbance the western Himalayan region is expected to witness isolated rain or snow.
Reason behind Scattered Rains And Thunderstorms
As a result, of a new western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation forecasted to arrive in Pakistan, it will affect the northern region of India throughout the weekend days.
Reportedly, the north part of Rajasthan on Saturday 22 January is likely to witness the same condition.
And again on the next day on 23rd January it will move to Punjab. This Western Disturbance will cause fairly widespread to widespread rain/snow along with thunderstorms over the areas of western Himalayan.

Heavy rain is likely over Indian states
Heavy rain is also expected over Indian states. On 22nd January, Delhi Punjab and Haryana expects heavy snowfall or rain.
And the same is also forecasted in the regions of Himachal Pradesh on the same day.
The entire North-Eastern region will experience isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall.
Also, the same situation is likely to occur in adjoining Bihar and West Bengal from 22 January to 24 January.
Furthermore, over the areas of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh fairly widespread rainfall or snow is expected throughout the period.
