On Friday, The Assam Congress president Bhupen Borah has announced a cash reward of Rs 3 lakhs for Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain.

“Assam PCC President @BhupenKBorah has announced to gift Rs 3 lacs to @LovlinaBorgohai for her historic victory in #TokyoOlympics2021 & for making us proud to be the first-time medal winner in Olympic from Assam,” the Assam Congress tweeted.

The Assam sports integrated policy 2017-18, offers cash incentives, special incentives to medal winners in Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and World Championships, including direct entry into Class I and Class II government jobs.

Therefore, according to this policy, Lovlina has become eligible for Government services under ACS, APS, DTO, Superintendent of taxes, and Superintendent of Excise.
