In Uttar Pradesh, a strange rape accusation was found. An eight-month pregnant 19-year-old woman was found strangled to death by her own parents, just before she was set to testify in court. The woman’s appearance was related to a case involving kidnapping and rape, in which her parents had lodged a complaint. The disturbing incident is believed to have been motivated by her refusal to provide a statement against her alleged partner in the case.

The woman and her partner who is framed to be accused of rape had eloped in October of the previous year. Following her discovery in December, her partner was arrested and subsequently detained. However, the situation took a turn when her parents, reportedly angered by her decision to refrain from testifying against the accused, took matters into their own hands.

The woman’s lifeless body was discovered discarded in a river located in Goyla village, under the jurisdiction of the Shahpur police station area. Law enforcement officials swiftly acted on the matter, apprehending the victim’s parents who staged the rape scene, who have now been arrested. Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Suman confirmed that the parents have confessed to the murder. The charges brought against them are in accordance with section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

Scheduled to record her statement in court on the following day, Saturday, the woman did not appear. The SP revealed that the parents’ frustration with their daughter’s decision to withhold testimony against the accused ultimately led to this tragic outcome.

Rising Cases of rape Crimes Against Women Spark Outrage and Demand for Action in Rajasthan

The Bhilwara district in Rajasthan found itself shrouded in sorrow and fury following the discovery of the charred remains of a 12-year-old girl within a coal furnace in Kotri town. This disturbing incident came to light subsequent to the disappearance of the minor, who had ventured to graze goats in a nearby field. Tragically, she was found to have suffered unspeakable cruelty, with allegations of gangrape preceding her horrifying fate, intensifying the public’s outrage.

Prompted by the girl’s vanishing, her family and fellow villagers launched an intense search operation that led them to a chilling discovery near one of the coal furnaces – a bangle that heightened suspicions about the traumatic ordeal the girl had endured. The gravity of the situation coupled with the demand for justice urged authorities to mobilize a forensic science laboratory team and deploy a dog squad to assist in the search for any potential additional victims.

The appalling nature of the crime has evoked widespread condemnation, prompting villagers to take to the streets to demand justice for the young victim. Amidst the outcry, Vikram Goud, a leader of the BJP, expressed dissatisfaction with the Congress-led government’s handling of women’s safety in the state, stressing the need for accountability and stringent measures to address the disturbing increase in such brutal incidents.

Unfortunately, this heart-wrenching incident is not an isolated occurrence in the region. Just days earlier, the state witnessed another distressing case in the Alwar district, where two teenage sisters were allegedly raped by their father’s coworkers at a brick kiln. The situation was compounded by the fact that both girls are now pregnant, highlighting the immense physical and emotional toll of such abhorrent acts.

In yet another shocking incident in the Bansur area, a minor girl fell victim to abduction, rape, and filming by two men who threatened to disseminate the footage on social media if she dared to speak out. These consecutive incidents underscore the critical necessity for comprehensive action to combat the prevailing menace of crimes against women in Rajasthan.

Expressing deep concern over the escalating crime rates, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Sekhawat disclosed that the state has been witnessing an alarming average of 17 rape cases daily, further underscoring the urgent requirement for systemic reform and stringent measures to safeguard women’s well-being.

These distressing occurrences act as a somber wake-up call for both the authorities and society as a whole, urging them to prioritize the safety and security of women. It is imperative for the government and law enforcement agencies to collaborate and implement effective strategies to curb such heinous acts, ensuring a safer environment for women in the region. The collective indignation must translate into concrete actions that ensure the perpetrators face justice and foster a society where the dignity and welfare of every individual, especially the vulnerable, are unequivocally safeguarded.
