After a delegation team visited GNRC, where Rajkanya Baruah was admitted, to assess her condition after she failed to appear at the police station due to a deteriorating health condition after being summoned by the police, the medical board of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) declared her completely fine.
Top police officers were already present at the GNRC, and Rajkanya Baruah was apprehended there.
She has been charged under Section 308 of IPC for an attempt to commit culpable Homicide.
Model Rajkanya Baruah was a Miss India finalist in 2016. Baruah is accused of driving while inebriated after hitting eight PWD workers with her fast automobile in the Rukmini gaon area on October 2 at around 2 a.m. Joseph, a pedestrian, lost both of his legs in the collision and is currently being treated at GMCH.
She was heading home from a late-night party, police said.

Bail had been granted
Rajkanya Baruah was granted bail within 24 hours of the accident, citing no serious IPC sections clamped on her by police, which drew widespread public outrage.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma then ordered a re-investigation into the matter under Dispur Police Station second OC Jugananda Boro, which drew widespread public outrage.
Rajkanya Baruah was taken to GNRC’s ICU after being summoned by the police yesterday; a team of GMCH physicians arrived at GNRC today and found her in good health.
