Rahul Gandhi’s Tweet
He tweeted, “India’s National security and territorial integrity in non-negotiable. A timid and docile response wont do. PM must defend the Nation.”
Rahul Gandhi’s tweet comes days after the Ministry of External Affairs gave an assurance to the government that they have been checking checks with the latest update and are ‘monitoring the situation’.
He further said, assurance was given even at the time when the first bridge was constructed by China.
According to Hindustan Times, Arindam Bagchi who is the MEA spokesperson responded to Rahul Gandhi’s tweet, “there is this issue of talks as well as the bridge. On the talks part of it, we have been pretty clear, we have been saying the same thing repeatedly, and we have had various rounds of conversations with the Chinese side at different levels diplomatic and military side. We have seen reports on this bridge or a second bridge.. We are monitoring the situation. Ofcourse, we always felt it was occupied.. Talks on with the Chinese side.”
