People around the world continue to grapple with the pandemic as vaccination seems to be the only way to move closer to normalcy. However, there is still a lot of hesitation and rumors doing rounds about inoculation.
Amid all this, a picture of a Meghalaya ‘Channawala’ displaying the tag of vaccinated is going viral. A photo doing rounds on social media, showing a vendor of Shillong’s favorite street food channa chat has been earning a lot of praises from netizens and even the administration.
Sharing the image on Instagram, the DC Office of East Khasi Hills wrote “Our favorite snack, and a responsible street vendor showing us the way forward.”
It’s, not only the vendor many shopkeepers and hawkers in the city are seen with vaccinated tags when putting out their stalls to encourage others and also to let the customers know.
This is an impressive initiative taken by the Meghalaya and Greater Shillong Progressive Hawkers and Street Vendors Association (MGSPHSVA), who along with the National Health Mission of the state government has not only raised awareness among all its members but also have given proper training for all necessary Covid-19 protocols.
