Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on Monday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for hydropower projects worth more than 11,000 crore rupees.
According to a report by Live mint, PM Modi will preside over the second groundbreaking ceremony of the Himachal Pradesh Global Investors’ Meet at roughly 11:30 a.m., prior to the dam’s inauguration. The meeting is anticipated to increase investment in the region by kicking off projects worth approximately 28,000 crore.
Brief details on the hydro projects of Himachal Pradesh
PM Modi will lay the cornerstone for the Renukaji Dam project, which has been in the works for nearly three decades. In addition, he will lay the cornerstone for the Luhri Stage 1 Hydro Power Project.
The 40 MW project will cost about 7,000 crore to construct. The dam, according to the PMO, will be extremely advantageous to Delhi, which will be able to collect approximately 500 million cubic metres of water per year.
The foundation stone for the Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project will also be laid by the Prime Minister. This will be Hamirpur district’s first hydroelectric project.
The 66-megawatt plant will cost about Rs. 680 crore to construct. It will result in the production of more than 300 million kilowatt-hours of power per year.
The Sawra-Kuddu Hydropower Project will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The 111 MW project cost around 2,080 crore to construct.
It would generate over 380 million units of power per year and generate over 120 crore in revenue for the state each year.
