According to the Secretary of Revenue, Debanan Daolagupu, in a press conference held in his office on Tuesday, the N C Hills Autonomous Council authority has decided to verify the PRCs of all citizens of Dima Hasao and has requested that all citizens submit their Permanent Residential Certificates to the department concerned for verification within one month.

Man deceived by fake PRC filed an FIR at Haflong police
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the individual whose Permanent Residential Certificate was forged filed an FIR with Haflong police station, and a case was opened with Haflong PS case No 52/22 u/s 420/468 0f IPC.
In his FIR, Lalnunpui Parate revealed that he had asked Albert Lalnaisang Selate to apply for a PRC (Permanent Residential Certificate) for him and his elder brother, Lalrambuotsai Parate because he would be unable to attend Council because he was on emergency duty.
After a few days, he handed him the Permanent Residential Certificate, which appeared to be forged. As a result, he sought the Council authority for verification of the Permanent Residential Certificate, where authorities from the Revenue Department, NC Hills Autonomous Council, informed him that the PRC was a forgery.
Given the gravity of the problem, the NCHAC administration has decided to verify all Permanent Residential Certificates of Dima Hasao residents, ensuring that no Dima Hasao resident is duped by a fake PRC racket.
