It has been officially announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with India’s Olympic-bound sportspersons virtually on July 13. The interaction is scheduled for three days ahead of the departure of the first batch of athletes for the Games.
“Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi will interact with #Tokyo Olympic bound athletes to motivate them ahead of their participation in the forthcoming Games, which will be held from 23 July to 8th August 2021,” tweeted the government’s citizen engagement platform, MyGovIndia, on its Twitter page.
The athletes will be travelling to Tokyo in an Air India charter flight. As reported earlier, due to the Covid situation in Japan, the Olympics will commence under a state of emergency without any spectators, local or overseas, from July 23 to August 8.
