NEW DELHI: On Thursday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the medical fraternity on the occasion of National Doctor’s Day during an event organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
During the event, PM Modi paid tribute to health workers, specifically covid warriors who lost their lives while protecting others during the first and second wave the COVID-19 pandemic.
“On behalf of 130 crore Indians, I want to thank all the doctors, today, when the country is fighting a major battle against Covid, our doctors have saved lakhs of lives. Several doctors have even sacrificed themselves in their tireless efforts. I pay my tributes to all these souls,” PM Modi said.
Additionally, PM Modi announced a credit guarantee scheme of Rs 50,000, to which he stated, “To further improve healthcare structure, we’re starting a Rs 50,000 crore credit guarantee scheme in areas where medical infrastructure is lacking.”
