Nirmala Sitharaman who is the Finance Minister of India said on Saturday that the centre has decided to reduce the price of petrol by Rs 8 per on Petrol and by Rs 6 per litre on diesel. The reduced prices will come into effect from midnight onwards.
Price of petrol and diesel per litre reduced
As the prices of basic essential commodities were on the rise, a sign of relief as has been over the people of India. The Finance Minister tweeted, “We are reducing the Central Excise duty on fuel by Rs 8 per litre and diesel by Rs 6 per litre. This will reduce the price of petrol by Rs 9.5 per litre and of diesel by Rs 7 per litre.”
The minister urged all the state governments to implement a similar cut and give some respite to the common man as well.
The Finance Minister also said that the centre will give an amount of Rs 200 per gas cylinder as a subsidy to over 90 million beneficiaries that fall under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
