On Thursday evening, at least eight unidentified criminals assaulted and injured a large number of people in the Lumdiengjri neighborhood of Shillong.
As per reports, Chandan Paul (55), Nurjul Mullah (30), and Abdul S Chaudhary were among the injured (38).
About the incident
Paul, a resident of lower Mawprem, was allegedly stabbed, while two other residents of Garikhana were injured on the face and back, according to sources.
A gang of unidentified miscreants attacked persons at Lumdiengjri, according to the injured, sources noted.
Nurjul was standing outside the SBI ATM across the street from the Lumdiengjri police station when he was assaulted, according to sources, and two of the injured are shopkeepers.
Plea for Strict actions
Meanwhile, Paul’s sister requested the State administration to take harsh measures, claiming that unidentified miscreants’ frequent attacks on permanent residents of the State must be halted, according to reports.
In addition, the police have yet to make an official statement, and calls to the Superintendent of Police have been returned with the message “I will call back.”
