The mastermind behind the massive violence that took place in Patiala, has been arrested from Mohali on Sunday, 1st of May 2022. The accused, Barjinder Singh Parwana hailing from Rajpura was held by the police officers when he was on the move to flee from the state.

IG Patiala, Mukhwinder Singh Chhina said earlier on Saturday that Barjinder is the main accused as well as the mastermind behind the whole incident. The other three who have been arrested so far are – Harish Singla, Daljeet Singh, and Kuldeep Singh.
The incident escalated into a violent one on Friday leaving four persons injured. As a result of the massive escalation of the situation, mobile internet and SMS services were suspended in Patiala from 9:30 am to 4 pm. The ruling government of the state transferred Inspector general Rakesh Agarwal, Senior Superintendent Nanak Singh and the SP of Patiala with immediate effect.
The incident called for a holiday in several areas of Patiala on Friday and Saturday.

The clashes broke out near kali temple after radical Sikhs came out in numbers to oppose the anti-separatist march, ‘Khalistan Murdabad’ which was led by Harish Singla’s Shiv Sena Party. Earlier, the Shiv Sena member has also arrested for his involvement in the violence case.
