Social responsive cell of Parul University extends its HUNF – Meals on Wheels to senior citizens on ‘World elder abuse awareness day’
Social Responsive Cell, a community welfare organization affiliated with Parul University, is proud to announce the expansion of its flagship initiative, HUNF – Meals on Wheels, to Vyara village. This significant step aims to provide free, delicious, and nutritious meals to vulnerable senior citizens and elderly individuals in need. By delivering freshly cooked meals directly to their doorsteps, the program ensures that nutritious food reaches the most vulnerable members of society, addressing food insecurity and promoting overall well-being.
The HUNF – Meals on Wheels project has been successfully operating in four villages around Waghodia Taluka, namely Ambali, Limda, Patiyapura, and Madheli. However, on the auspicious occasion of ‘World Elder Abuse Awareness Day,’ the Social Responsive Cell extends the HUNF project to another village in Waghodia Taluka – Vyara village.
With the expansion of HUNF – Meals on Wheels to Vyara village, the Social Responsive Cell aims to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families facing food insecurity in the area. This extension is a testament to the organization’s commitment to addressing social issues and fostering a healthier, more inclusive society. The meals provided through the HUNF initiative are prepared with utmost care, adhering to high standards of hygiene and nutrition. Since its inception, the Social Responsive Cell of Parul University has successfully catered to the needs of over 47 helpless elderly individuals, providing them with more than 18,090 freshly prepared meals at their doorstep. In addition to the meals, the organization also organizes health camps for the senior citizens, where skilled healthcare professionals volunteer their time and expertise to serve the elderly population, prioritizing their overall well-being.
