A new strain of Covid-19 detected by WHO; variant ‘XE’

A new strain of the Covid 19 has been detected by WHO. The new variant has been termed as variant ‘XE” . It is also said to be more transmissible than the others.

The World Health Organization or the WHO recently detected a new variant of the Covid 19 which is said to be more transmissible than the other viruses. The new mutation is named as “XE”.

The first case of the new variant was detected in the United Kingdom . It is said that the new one is 10 times more transmissible than the other variants that have existed since.

As per the reports of the WHO, “Early day estimates indicate a community growth rate advantage of 10 % as compared to BA.2, however this finding requires further confirmation.”
