Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘iconic week celebrations’ under the Ministry of Finance and Ministry at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on Monday.
New series coins of visually impaired people
The event also witnessed the launch of special coins that are for the visually impaired friendly. The coins of Re 1, Rs 2, 5, 10 and 20 will have the portrayal of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav design. PM Modi said, “These new series of coins will remind people of the goal of Amrit Kal and motivate people to work towards the development of the country.”
As per reports, PM Modi has launched ‘Jan Samarth Portal’ – which is a credit linked portal of 12 governmental schemes.
The government stated that “this portal is going to make it easy so that citizens do not have to ask the same questions every time to avail themselves of a government programme.”
