Nagaland: Read Zakietsono Jamir’s journey from being a coffee enthusiast to serving fresh ground coffee

Zakietsono Jamir, who is better known as Atsi, is the owner and founder of ‘Farmers Square Cafe’ based in Medziphima in Nagaland’s Dimapur District. She initiated the enterprise in the year 2018.

She is a pioneer in the introduction of the trend of a “quality coffee culture”. Zakietsono is also informally referred to as the “Coffee Lady of Nagaland”.

At her Cafe, there is an eco-friendly aura and a peaceful environment. Zakietsono along with the help from a miniscule team of four women maintains this pleasant atmosphere and serves freshly ground coffee.

Various blends and different kinds of processed food like pickles, sauce, mushrooms, canned pineapples, that are locally made is also offered.

Zakietsono as a budding entrepreneur, had to go through stages of high and lows; but no barrier could stop her as she persistently opened doors for her business.

According to IANS, Zakiestono is among the women entrepreneurs from the different states in North-East India to have been supported by GIZ’s “Her&Now”.

It is an ongoing project being implemented across different parts of India by German development cooperation agency Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in partnership with the Government of India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
