“The need of the hour is for regional parties to unite. “Any initiative to enhance regional forces will be supported by us,” Lyngdoh stated.

He said that an informal debate about unity had already begun.
“In this sense, there has been no official debate among the heads of regional parties.” “I don’t believe there will be a problem because all regional forces have the same agenda and ideals to protect and safeguard the state’s interests,” Lyngdoh explained.

He stated that the issue of seat-sharing in the 2023 Assembly elections of Meghalaya does not arise at this time because there has been no official discussion. The likelihood of all regional groups merging appears to be tough at the time, he added, adding that everyone’s ultimate goal is union.

KP Pangniang, the president of the HSPDP, has indicated that uniting regional forces ahead of the 2023 elections of Meghalaya is critical.

“At the moment, the Regional Democratic Alliance is made up of solely the UDP and the HSPDP. However, we are dedicated to convincing the PDF and the KHNAM to join the alliance. “It is past time for regional forces to join forces in the greatest interests of the state’s people,” Pangniang had remarked.
